All That Work for NOTHING!

Why did I even bother?
I always had the assumption that housework was a WASTE OF TIME!

I couldn't wait until I could clean my porch, get it all ready for SUMMER so Bill and I could sit and nap out there in the breeze.

Then I worked ALL LAST WEEKEND to get the NEW DECK ready for SUMMER.

Yesterday when I went for my BIKE RIDE down Tedious Creek Road toward the little dock, I was wondering why it was FOGGY? As I got closer to the OPEN MARSH on my left and a PINE STAND on my right...IT DAWNED ON ME!

That was Lob Lolly Pine POLLEN blowing across the MARSH!
WOW!

Well... TAKE A LOOK AT THIS!

I wiped down ONLY THE TOP of my Red, White and Blue cupboard...you know the one I keep my craft stuff in...

THAT IS POLLEN...INSIDE MY HOUSE!

Who do I call to START ALL OVER?
One good thing...I am not being affected by the pollen!

BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND!

Wow...Blue Skies!
I got a lot done too!

I re-painted the ARBOR...
That is three times now since I have owned it.

Left hand-side of Arbor

Painted my rocking chair and some porch trim.
Mostly I putzed around with my bird feeders and planted some flowers.

I LOVE WHEN IT SUNSHINES!

I got up early today and painted a QUICK PICTURE.

I also framed some pictures for some friends.
BOY they look different when they are framed!

Maybe I am an ARTIST!
HAHAHAHAHA!!

I'M in LOVE

I am in LOVE with TWO of the MOST WONDERFUL "BOYS"

I went to Baltimore yesterday to babysit BRADY & BENNETT!
They are SO WONDERFUL!

I went early and sneaked into the house before they were awake and when they came down...
GRANDMA WAS THERE!

Bennett learning to cook!

Brady with his monkey watching TV!

They both were SO GOOD!
Even though Bennett is only 14 weeks old...he was an ANGEL!

We read books, watched BACKYARDIGANS and played with PLAYDOUGH!
And...of course...ate CHEESE CURLS...mine and BRADY'S FAVORITE.
I always bring him a bag.

Eric asked me to come back next week...
I AM READY!

Very BUSY Girl!

I have been a VERY BUSY GIRL today.
I haven't stop for a minute until I just sat down.
No No No, I lied...I took a shower before I sat down.

I had MORE TILES to make this morning...I kept waiting for it to RAIN, but the sky just kept getting bluer and the clouds whiter and puffier!

I am scheming up another EXPERIMENT...I am going to TRY and make my backyard into a WILD FLOWER MEADOW!

Some may say I am just TOO LAZY to cut the grass...and that maybe true, BUT this is something I always wanted to try and so...WHY NOT!

Worse case scenario. I have to CUT THE GRASS.

So while it was still pretty MUDDY outside, I sprinkled WILDFLOWER SEEDS everywhere. I bought 6 BIG BOXES [half-price of course] all over the yard. We will wait and see what happens.

Then I SCRUBBED the FRONT PORCH!
I have been waiting to do this all SPRING.
Cats have been sleeping on the porch ALL WINTER, MUD, SWAMP DIRT...DOG HAIR...I just couldn't wait. I took EVERYTHING off the porch and SCRUBBED IT GOOD!

I am going to paint my rocking chair white [next project]

My summer bed...don't you just want climb up there and read a book?

What is that BIG THING in the back ground all WRAPPED UP?
Well, that is Brady, Bennett, and Ariana's mechanical horse...you know the horse you ride for a DIME!
YES! A REAL ONE!
It use to sit outside Bill's Mom and Dad's store down in TEXAS.
Now it sits on MY PORCH waiting to be ridden!

The Porch Swing

Then I went over to a neighbor's and helped her sand and spray paint a table.

Then I came back home and put EVERYTHING back on the porch...washed all of the porch linens...pillows, etc.

NOW I AM DONE!

Gail has been BUGGING ME!

Gail has been BEGGING ME about the TILES I have been selling.
She wants to see what I have been doing down here in the SWAMP.
I made a few last summer and SOLD them all at OLD SALTY's Restaurant on Hooper's Island.

This winter I made more for the OUTDOOR SHOW, but I hardly sold any...so I started to give them away at the last minute so I wouldn't have to take them back home.

Some people...[I won't say WHO] thought I was CRAZY just giving them away...
I am CRAZY like a FOX as they say!

St. Thomas Church

Ms. Dora's House

One of the teachers at school bought one, I think, or I gave it to her, I don't remember, but she gave it to a friend while she was at one of the local GROCERY BINGO's.

Well, EVERYONE had to have one then!
I have made over 50 of them now...some SPECIAL ORDERS.

I used pictures that I have taken since I have lived down here.
Some of the tiles I have made are...

St. Thomas Church, Bethany Church, Zion Church, Wingate Church, Crapo Church, Wesleyan Church

Annie's Store, Bloodsworth Store, Pritchett's Store, Sam Jones Store, Stone House

Hooper's Strait Lighthouse, Thomas Point Lighthouse

The DECK is FINISHED

Bill resting after all his HARD WORK!

Bill put the finishing touches on the NEW DECK today! It looks GREAT and I LOVE IT!

Gail gave me her old GAZEBO since she put a NEW ADDITION/PORCH on the back of her house. It looks like we will get another year out of the canvas.
THANX GAIL!

The BOARDWALK goes out to the SHED.

Bill also built a COFFEE TABLE for the DECK out of old wrought iron table frame and some old windows. I gave him the idea and he worked out all the details.

I couldn't have found more perfect pillows for the deck chairs than the two I bought while on a shopping SPREE with Gail!

The bird feeders look great outside too!

Only thing left is to re-paint the ARBOR and nail some NEW SHINGLES on the WELL-HOUSE!
