LISA Asked Me a Good Question

Lisa asked me why I always look at the WEATHER and TIDE down here.
Well, if you lived across the street from BIG WATER like the CHESAPEAKE BAY you would keep a watch on it too!

These are pictures I took YESTERDAY on my drive home from SCHOOL.
All the RAIN water you got ACROSS the BAY BRIDGE flows RIGHT INTO OUR YARDS!

But...Bill and I have had our yard GRADED so the water will run off!
It was WELL WORTH the MONEY!

But for sure, if we have a HURRICANE or the such, it would be at my DOORSTEP!

Pretty Deep
this is the TIDE coming in
In between the HORIZON and those TREES
is the OPEN WATER of the BAY

BUT...Todays weather looks a lot better for BILL!

GOAT HERDER

I was UP at 5:30 today.
The DOGS just would NOT stop barking.
Becuase of ALL the RAIN, the SWAMP MONSTERS are looking for HIGH GROUND!
Especially the DEER...and the DOGS just can't take it.
On the way to TOWN yesterday, the BALD EAGLES were flying in BISHOPS HEAD, CRAPO and BLACKWATER, with the MARSH flooded, all the SWAMP MONSTERS are OUT and ABOUT!

A lot was YARDS were flooded also by the DAYS and DAYS of RAIN!
MINE IS DRY!

I have a couple of pools of standing water, but I filled them this morning with DRY STRAW so my DOGS will NOT go over to those small pools and roll in it...YES, there is something about GOOD OLD STINKY MARSH WATER that DOGS just cannot leave alone, especially BUDDY... A.K.A. MUDDY BUDDY!

So, while I was UP, I put on my GOAT HERDING HAT and cleaned pens, houses and lay NEW WALL-TO-WALL CARPETING in the houses, THANX to GAIL.

Betty Goat says "THANX GAIL, I LOVE THE WINE COLOR CARPET, IT IS PERFECT!"

Then I went around front and took on one of my BIGGEST BATTLES!!!
Yes, THE HOSE!
You all know how much the HATE THE HOSE!
It always KICKS MY BUTT!

Anyway, I hosed down the front porch quite often because if you don't keep battling the SWAMP, IT WILL TAKE OVER!

When BUDDY saw that Betty got NEW Carpeting in her house...he was depressed and asked if he could have that CREME COLORED CARPET that Gail brought down. He LOVES to lay under the porch swing and he thought CREME COLOR would be very nice. He is a VERY HAPPY DOG right now!

What am I going to do today???
Now that the GOATS houses are CLEAN, maybe I better start on MINE!

Mustangs edge Red Raiders, 3-2

In non-section boys soccer action, Laurel Highlands [Uniontown, my HOMETOWN] battled its way to a 3-2 victory over Uniontown Thursday night to reach the .500 mark on the season.
Sophomore Lucas Tarr [my nephew] was credited with four saves for the Mustangs.

"We had a new goalkeeper in with Lucas playing, and the communication isn't there yet," Weiss said. "He is learning and the defense is learning how to play around him. Lucas started about three games ago, and has been strong in net for us. He has played solid, but he is a sophomore and just need more confidence and playing time."

Lucas on SPIRIT DAY
he is OVER 6 feet tall and only a
SOPHOMORE!

Here he is in ACTION!

Not sure what they mean by
"needs more confidence"...
had 4 SAVES?

Oh well, GO LUCAS!

Better Than Duc Tape

For some reason which I cannot explain, my GOATS have decided that the GRASS is GREENER on the OTHER SIDE!
They have stayed on their side of the fence for at least 3 years now, but BABY GOAT [aka Dora Goat] has decided she can jump the fence.

So, I had to come up with a SOLUTION...if you know me, I can be VERY CREATIVE in a HURRAY.
I looked around and found some OLD BOARDS and some BUNGEE CORDS

AND
WHAA-LAA!

It only raised the fence about 3-4 inches,
BUT WHAT IS A MOTHER TO DO

at 4:30 pm in the afternoon?
We will see if that stops them...
At least they are jumping into the backyard that is

ALSO fenced in and not OUT
of the yard itself...
YET!

Bill...if this is doesn't work, you better stop at Lowe's and look around for a solution????

NASTY SATURDAY

It is a RAINY, NASTY,COLD
AND DAMP DAY
OUT THERE TODAY!

My feet are COLD,
I keep brushing my teeth with the cream rinse that sits beside the toothpaste
and I CANNOT find something
GOOD TO EAT!

Bill came home this morning instead of last night
because the TIDE was HIGH down here from all the rain.
He is now sleeping in his chair.

I think I am going to go read my book and eat a
HERSHEY BAR!

Saturday Night FUN!

Last Saturday night,
Old Salty's Restaurant on Hoopers Island
had LADIES NIGHT with the
CHIPPENDALE'S!

Robin, Me and Susan

Me, Gail, Robin, Susan and Ms. Elaine all went together.
It was a FUN Evening...
or should I say...FUNNY Evening.
Why FUNNY?
Well, these were NOT the FIRST STRING DANCERS by a long shot.
YES...they were very handsome.
YES...they were very POLITE and RESPECTFUL
NO.... They were NOT PROFESSIONAL DANCERS

Me and Gail
Gail finally rated them as the FIFTH STRING Dancers!
Anyway, we still had fun...MOSTLY LAUGHING!
Gail's face hurt from laughing so much

Ms. Elaine liked MARCUS the BEST!
She was a GOOD SPORT
and MARCUS was very
NICE, POLITE and KIND to her!

Nice Day for a W ALK!

I am afraid there might not be very more
PERFECT DAYS
for a
WALK!
So I took a little one today...
On somedays, the water looks SO BLUE!

A look down our road...
or as
Ms. Dora would say...
down the
LANE!

Sad BEAUTIFUL house
melting away in the
MARSH!

FOUR DAYS with the Grandbabies!

It was a VERY NICE 4 days with the KIDS!
FIRST I went up to see BRADY and BENNETT!
They kept me running, going for walks, making tents,
ringing Fairy Bells, shopping and LAUGHING!
They are such GOOD BOYS!
I definitely got my WORK OUT!

Here they are playing at a park near their NEW HOME!

Here is BABY BEN BEN
Looking CUTE as a BUTTON!

Then I drove up to see ARIANA
what a CUTIE!

Here she is giving her MOM a KISS!

On Thursday, my friend GAIL
drove back to the SWAMP with me!
She likes to just come down and CHILL and SHOP!
We left my TRUCK at her house so she can DRIVE
across the BAY BRIDGE...just a QUIRK with her...
so, her HUSBAND drove my truck down this morning!

I taught school on FRIDAY and Gail went out and took some pixs!

GOOD JOB! Gail!!

My Poor Little Truck

My POOR LITTLE TRUCK is getting a WORKOUT
pulling Bill's NEW fishing boat up to CROCHERON.

The BOAT is called a BONES BOAT because it is designed
to go on the BAY and in the SHALLOWS.

Bill bought it last weekend and spent some time today
getting her ready to LAUNCH.
Her name is the "Bone Ifide"

Have a GOOD TIME...Bill!

LOOK what BILL Bought ME!

Look what Bill bought me at a YARD SALE
yesterday on the ride home from REHOBOTH.
I LOVE IT!

A WATERMELON STOOL!

It is CERAMIC!

Just ANOTHER Project

Here is another PROJECT in the WORKS.

Below is a picture of an old dresser that I had painted
AMERICANA years ago when we lived on Water Street.

I had used this dresser for Lisa when she was a BABY.

A NEW friend of mine thought I would like this

OLD DRESSER and asked to come down and take a look at it.

To MY  SURPRISE it is the EXACT DRESSER of the
AMERICANA one I already have!
It is a MIRROR IMAGE of mine. Same handles, size, etc.
So, NOW I HAVE ANOTHER PROJECT!

YUCKY BROWN..so I have to PRIME it.

Primed and READY to PAINT!

ANY SUGGESTIONS???
