Still CRAZY After All These YEARS!

Yesterday was JUST the BEGINNING!
and the END!!

Ever heard of Seasonal affective disorder (SAD),
also known as winter depression or winter blues,
is a mood disorder in which people
who have normal mental health
throughout most of the year experience
depressive symptoms in the winter???

Well, that's ME!!
Though symptoms can be severe, they usually clear up.
The condition in the summer is often referred to as
reverse seasonal affective disorder,
and can also include heightened anxiety.

But YOU already KNOW that about ME!
I LOVE SUMMER OUTSIDE
in the SUNSHINE

I had my first day, I think, YESTERDAY!
Now today we are having another
COLD
DAMP
GREY
FOGGY
Day here in the SWAMP!

This morning the DOGS would NOT STOP BARKING!
I went out to see what was going on
and sitting on TOP of MY HOUSE
were FOUR VULTURES!

NOW, if the SIGHT of that won't knock
you for a LOOP
NOTHING WILL!

I am UP and getting OUT TODAY!

What a Good Idea

When we took the babies to the Baltimore Zoo, the Petting Zoo had goats.

I saw that they used old broom heads attached to the fences for the
goats to scratch on.

Both Betty and Dora Goat thought that was a GREAT IDEA!!

No Chocolate Warming Cake

But I did make a PINEAPPLE COCONUT CAKE.
Get your fork!!

My Two Buddies

Bill and Buddy have been bonding.
Buddy has fully recovered from this summer.

We are not sure what happened to him but hand feeding wet dog food,
carrying him out to do his business and tender loving care has brought
him back.

Kristopher

Did I show you this painting
I did of KRISTOPHER?

I gave it to KRISTY when the SHIP
stopped in PORT CANAVERAL

I hope she likes it!

SINFUL!!

One of the MOST SINFUL DESERTS
I have EVER HAD was on the CRUISE

I am going to try and re-create it
Let you know how it comes out

According to the new Carnival newsletter,
The Funville Times, the recipe for the
chocolate melting cake is as follows:
  • 8 ounces of semisweet chocolate
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) of butter
  • 7 eggs, divided use
  • 6 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of flour

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Melt the chocolate and butter and cool for 10 minutes. In a separate bowl, mix four eggs with sugar. Whisk. Then add flour and whisk. Add the remaining three eggs and add the egg mixture to the chocolate mixture. Pour this entire mixture into individual ramekins. Bake until just done, about 15-20 minutes (interior will be melting). Serve with vanilla ice cream.

Makes 8 servings. Approximate nutritional values per serving: 460 calories (64.7 percent calories from fat), 8 g protein, 35 g carbohydrate, 27 g sugar, 2 g dietary fiber, 35 g fat, 250 mg cholesterol, 60 mg sodium.

Carnival Has It All

The Carmival Ship I was on did not have this excursion.

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Nearly 4,500 passengers and crew on a seven-day cruise to the Mexican Riviera were stranded off the coast of Mexico after an engine room fire cut power to their ship. Tugboats and an aircraft carrier were headed out to help Tuesday.

The Carnival Splendor was 200 miles south of San Diego when the fire started early Monday morning, according to a statement from Miami-based Carnival Cruise Lines.

It was extinguished with no injuries to the 3,299 passengers and 1,167 crew members.

The 952-foot ship has auxiliary power, but air conditioning, hot food service, hot water and telephones were knocked out. Toilets and cold running water were restored Monday night, the cruise line said.

Passengers were first asked to move from their cabins to the ship's upper deck, but eventually allowed to go back to their rooms. Bottled water and cold food were being provided, the cruise line said.

The vessel was drifting about 55 miles off of the northern Baja California coast. Tugs were expected to reach it at midday to tow it to Ensenada, but it was unclear when it would arrive at the Mexican port. Passengers will then be bused back to the United States.

The ship was in contact with the U.S. Coast Guard, which deployed aircraft and ships.

Coast Guard Lt. Khris Johns, who was on a cutter at the scene, told NBC's "Today" show that it will take two tugs about 24 hours to bring the ship to port.

"But right now with the current conditions and what we saw onboard the cruise ship, that's about the safest way to proceed as it stands now," he said.

The U.S. Navy was also diverting the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan from training maneuvers to help. A plane was to drop off 35 pallets of supplies on the carrier that will be delivered to the cruise liner by helicopter, the Navy said in a statement.

The voyage, which began in Long Beach, was canceled and guests will get refunds, reimbursement for transportation costs and a free future cruise of equal value, the cruise line said.

"We know this has been an extremely trying situation for our guests and we sincerely thank them for their patience," Carnival President and CEO Gerry Cahill said in the statement. "Conditions on board the ship are very challenging and we sincerely apologize for the discomfort and inconvenience our guests are currently enduring."

Windy Day

We are just leaving Freeport Bahamas
I think we must have been getting the residual winds from Hurricane
Tomas today. The wind made the air very chilly. I tried to sit out by
the pool but just had to come back in and get warmer clothes.

Tomorrow is a day at sea and then home on Saturday.

Still Crusin'

OMG I just rode down one of the Atlantis waterslided. What fun.
Just like any amusement park the fun rides are quite a walking
distance from each other. There are no lines.

I also rode down the CURRENT which an inner tube ride down. Flowing
river with rapids. You can just stay in your tube and go round round
and round. Nancy you would love it! Remember the tubing with the kids??

I am sure I will be on YouTube.
I fell out of the inner tube
Flipped over laughing and couldn't get back in. What a sight that must
have been. Someone had to get that on video.

It is getting cloudy hope to get one more ride down the river.

Back on the ship
It rained like crazy.
But we had fun.
The ATLANTIS is a beautiful resort.

Tomorrow Freeport Bahamas
No plans just bumming around tomorrow
